The Scammers of Greatness

Our society has been destroyed with mediocrity.
The music, food, film. Art as a whole.
It surrounds us,
we consume it,
we become it.
"Students" that get full marks are intelligent.
"Musicians" that don't need autotune are talented.
"Entrepreneurs" that solve problems are special.
But let me ask you truly,
are they?
Or is our bar so dam low that anything substantially above it is recognised as extraordinary?
Well, in that sense, they are.

From getting straight A's, to knowing how to sing an A, even raise an A,
society will applaud you.
They will put you on a pedestal.
For you did surprisingly more,
than they could ever even imagine.
But don't be fooled.
For this pedestal isn't yours.
It's theirs.
They are the ones who fill their stomachs with junk.
Lungs with toxins.
They scroll, bingeWatch and listen to their algorithm.
Influencers lecture them on climate.
Podcasters teach them self awareness.
Seeking truth from the media…
How could you be surprised that their bar is so low?
Would you honestly expect,
anything different?

So go ahead,
listen to them.
You feel special, right?
It makes you proud.
Then...
Satisfied.
Content.
Average.
Mediocre…

And that's how they scam you out of greatness.
